Instead of picking her up for some Carpool Karaoke, James Corden enlisted Anna Kendrick to perform alongside him in an impromptu musical about falling in and out of love. Click inside to watch them sing songs from Adele, The Weeknd, and more!
Anna Kendrick, 30, just can’t turn down a good musical, can she? During her appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, 37, joined the actress in singing a medley of popular love songs from some of your favorite artists, calling their tiny musical, “Soundtrack to a Love Story.” Just wait until you see their performance!
Lights, camera, action! Interviews just aren’t enough to entertain the people watching James Corden on The Late Late Show, which is why he has so many incredible and entertaining skits that are constantly going viral. On Wednesday, June 22, James got a little help from his fellow Broadway veteran, Anna Kendrick, in a late night musical!
The performance starts out with Anna singing Aretha Franklin‘s “Say A Little Prayer,” as she puts on makeup and gets ready for the day. As the song wraps up she puts on a red dress/robe and moves onto the next set, a bar, where James is waiting for. When Anna walks in, James starts singing Chris Burgh‘s “Lady In Red” and soon enough he’s pulling her into an embrace for a slow dance!
But, it doesn’t end there! Their love song continues in what looks like a nightclub setting, with James and Anna taking the stage to perform The Weeknd‘s “I Can’t Feel My Face.” The two mix in their own impromptu dance moves, and before you know it we’re moving onto the next set — a bedroom! The pair kneel on the bed while they rip off their clothes (except not really) and sing Boyz II Men‘s “I’ll Make Love To You” at the top of their lungs.
When the lights go out and James is asleep next to her in bed, Anna sings The Partridge Family’s “I Think I Love You.” Next comes the wedding bells, with Anna and James singing Bruno Mars’ “Marry You.” The wedded bliss moves on to a kitchen set, with the couple singing Elton John and Kiki Dee’s “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.” But, unfortunately, the happiness comes to a screeching end at that moment.
