‘Big Brother’ season 18 is finally here! The houseguests officially moved in and on June 22, we found out who the rumored returning alum were.
Let us just start out by saying this season of Big Brother is definitely going to be a good one. Before the show even began, the cast was previewing alliances and showmances plus with Vanessa‘s sister you never know what kind of drama will come about. And while we knew there were four “surprise guests” coming, we had to know who they’d be.
The returnees were “stowaways” who were in the house from the moment the new 12 moved in — sitting in suitcases. They were season 16’s Nicole Franzel, season 17’s runner up, James Huling, season 17’s Da’vonne, and season 14’s winner Frank Eudy.
While many things look familiar this season, one thing we won’t be seeing is the Battle of the Block (phew!). “A new Sunday competition is coming into play,” EP Allison Grodner told THR, adding there will be a new ceremony at the end. “You want competitions that have stakes, that really mean something. This new competition really does that. So the nominations falls somewhere in the middle and then this competition and then, you’ll see.
“It’s going to be fun, something we’ve never done before,” EP Rich Meehan added. “We need to keep the stakes high in the Sunday show because we didn’t want to go back to Have Not competitions.”
We knew the brand new twist had to do with the actual house. “The rooms are different cities and destinations. There are phone booths and phones — of course not to call out, but to call each other. At some point it could be revealed that these will play into another twist,” Allison added. “And we will learn on night one that the house theme plays a big role in a game twist that the houseguests will be faced with. All of this is intertwined, and more so than we have in the past.”
