Spain is considered one of the favorites to win the 2016 Euro tournament and after they’ve smoked their competition, it’s easy to see why! Only Croatia stands between Spain and the next round, but this match won’t be easy for the Spanish super squad.
Spain sits on top of Group D of the Euro 2016 table, and though they’ll advance to the Round of 16, they just need one point to seal their victory. A win would mean a better opponent in the next round, so expect the action to be fierce when they and Croatia clash on June 21. The game kicks off at 3:00 PM EST so be ready to watch every exciting second.

Spain put down the Czech Republic, 1-0, and they blew by Turkey in a 3-0 blowout. Despite this incredible performance, they’re not overlooking their Croatian opponents. “Croatia have been one of the best teams so far in the tournament, Spanish coach Vicente Del Bosque, 65, said ahead of the game, per ESPN. “We will both go for the game. I expect an open game, they will go for it, the same as us. We will try not to think about strange things, and do it in a sporting way.”
This game should be explosive – but not as wild as Croatia’s match against the Czech Republic. When those two teams clashed on June 17, the fans took their love of sport too far by throwing lit flares and fireworks down on the field. The game ended in a 2-2 draw, but not until the UEFA stopped the game for five minutes to clear up the explosive debris.
Sadly, Croatia will head into this game without their star midfielder, Luka Modric, 30, as he’s sidelined with an adductor muscle problem, according to Sky Sports. Mateo Kovacic, 22, is likely to replace him. The Croatian team’s problems don’t stop there, as Vedran Corluka, 30, is also doubtful. He suffered a head wound against Turkey and the team might bench him for his health. Spain’s Sergio Ramos, 30, might rest as well, as he’s just one yellow card away from a suspension. Yikes!
