Nearly three months after D’Angelo Russell recorded a video of Nick Young admitting to cheating on then-fiancee Iggy Azalea, the rapper and her NBA beau have split. And now, D’Angelo, who’s known as a ‘snitch’ to fellow NBA players, feels incredibly guilty.
Iggy Azalea, 26, and Nick Young, 31, officially called it quits on their engagement, three months after D’Angelo Russell, 20, recorded a video of the NBA player saying he cheated on his then-fiancee. They tried to make their relationship work after the heartbreaking reveal, but they just couldn’t survive the scandal, and now, HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned D’Angelo feels “awful.”
“D’Angelo thought his worst nightmare was over. He feels horrible, just plain awful that he’s the reason Iggy and Nick are officially over. He can’t believe that the joke he took way too far has caused a happy couple to call it quits. He’s called Nick several times in the past few days, but Swaggy hasn’t picked up the phone and D’Angelo feels like Nick’s ignoring him. D understands why Nick’s upset, but still wishes that Swaggy would hear him out one last time,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
If we were D’Angelo, we wouldn’t hold our breath for a friendship reconciliation. It may be a long time before Nick forgives D’Angelo — if ever. But Nick might find comfort in the fact that D’Angelo is getting flack for what he did.
“It’s rough for D’Angelo too. Other NBA players are throwing super shade at him, refusing to invite him to parties and even blacklisting him at popular clubs in L.A. and Vegas. Word on the street is that he’s a snitch and no one wants to be around him,” our source adds.
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, D’Angelo leaked the shocking video, in which Nick said he cheated on Iggy with a 19-year-old woman, in late March. At the time the video was leaked, Nick and Iggy had been engaged for nine months. And after months of working through their issues, Iggy announced their split on June 19, saying she can’t marry a man she doesn’t trust.
