‘The Bachelorette’ kicked off with the return of the super villain, scratching on the glass, ‘Hocus Pocus’ style — and not to worry, a new villain would erupt soon!
Usually on The Bachelorette, when you send someone home, they go home. This wasn’t the case for Chad Johnson, who JoJo Fletcher sent home after learning about his aggression. He briefly went back to the house instead of leaving and once again caused some more drama, but let’s be honest: this episode had way better stuff going on.
All the other men had to make themselves look even better this week and apparently they just started realizing this was a real competition. James F. wrote a poem for her, but didn’t have time to connect because Alex interrupted. Luke also tried to interrupt Dan’s time — but when men with roses interrupt, it started getting awkward. Luke even told her he was falling for her!
Jordan definitely took the lead at one point leading her up against a wall to make out with her — with the guys on the other side. Yikes! So the final 13 men went down to 11 when James F. and Daniel were sent home. And just like that, the guys were off to Uruguay.
First up, was a one-on-one with Jordan! He told JoJo he was “falling in love” with her, but she needed to bring up his ex, who she had met. She flat out asked Jordan if he cheated — and without hesitation, he said, “no.” Phew.
Meanwhile, the men started questioning JoJo when they came across an InTouch magazine, that included an interview with her ex. He claimed she was just there for fame and that she never loved Ben (a report she’s trashed as being completely untrue). When she got back from her date, producers showed her the article and she flipped out. It really seemed like the realest size of JoJo we had ever seen! She headed to the guys’ room in tears, and defended herself — of course, they had her back.
The group date was pretty blah this week, but ended when JoJo said she was giving Derek the group rose for “reassurance.” Alex told him how annoyed he was and Derek felt like he was being attacked in Mean Girls.
Let’s get to the one on one with Robby. JoJo totally was smitten with him, they jumped off a cliff together (“spontaneously,” although they had on bathing suits and water shoes), and he dropped the L-word after revealing his best friend died in a car accident, giving him perspective on life, (it also led him to breaking up with his girlfriend of three and a half years — yes, the girl who’s now with Chad). He of course, got a rose.
At the rose ceremony, Derek tried to pull the Chase, Jordan and Alex aside to confront them about their “clique.” But without roses, Alex and Chase wanted to focus on JoJo — except she decided they didn’t need a cocktail hour and it was on to the roses.
Jordan, Robby, and Derek already had roses; she gave out the five tonight to Luke, Chase, Alex, James and Wells. That meant Grant, Evan and Vinny were sent home — and they all were shocked and super emotional. Now, only eight remain!
