Poor Steph Curry! The NBA star is really hurting after he and the Warriors lost game 7 of the Finals to the Cavaliers. And HollwoodLife.com hears EXCLUSIVELY it’s because he feels like he let his team down!
Steph Curry, 27, has got to be his own toughest critic, and he’s really coming down hard on himself after losing Game 7 of the NBA Finals to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Although he played an epic game and left it all on the court, he feels like it wasn’t enough to nab Dub Nation the win. Get the EXCLUSIVE here!
Undoubtedly, all of the Golden State Warriors took the 93-89 loss hard, but Steph is taking it the worst. “He hates that Dub Nation lost last night and what’s worse – they lost in Oakland,” a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “He would have much rather ended the season this way in Cleveland than to disappoint Oakland fans.”
And although the loss isn’t all of his fault, he feels like he could have performed better than he did. “Steph’s aware that it’s a team effort in every game, but he’s kicking himself hard because he doesn’t feel like he rose to the occasion last night,” the insider continued. “He’s mad. His A-Game was more like a C-Game, if that.”
But even though he doesn’t feel as if he was as aggressive as he could have been, it’s understandable that he got a little choked up. After all, there was a lot on the line for the defending champion. “Perhaps his nerves got to him and he was still blowing off steam from being ejected and letting LeBron, 31, and the Cavs get the best of him in game 6,” our source added.
But regardless of his own game time performance Steph applauded his teammates for stepping up to the plate. “It hurts, man. That’s all I’m really kind of marinating on right now,” he admitted to reporters. “I’m proud of every single guy that stepped foot on the floor for our team this year. It wasn’t easy what we accomplished, and it’s not an easy pill to swallow what we didn’t accomplish. You gotta just take the good with the bad and understand that we hopefully will have many more opportunities to fight for championships and be on this stage because it’s what it’s all about.” That’s the spirit! The Cavaliers took title back to Cleveland on June 19, but we’re Steph is already plotting on how to win it back next season.
