So scary. A federal officer says a man arrested at a Donald Trump rally in Las Vegas told authorities he tried to grab an officer’s gun so he could shoot and kill the Presidential candidate, a new report claims. Get all the details here.
Michael Steven Sandford, 19, allegedly attempted to assassinate Donald Trump during a Las Vegas rally on June 18, a new report claims. A federal officer said Michael allegedly told authorities that he tried to grab an officer’s gun so he could shoot and kill the candidate. Thankfully, he didn’t succeed.
A complaint, which was filed in U.S. District Court in Nevada on Monday, June 20, charges Michael with an act of violence on restricted grounds, according to the New York Post.
The report claims Special Agent Swierkowski said Michael “told officers he drove from California to kill Trump and went to a Las Vegas gun range the day before to learn to shoot.”
When Michael made it to the rally at the Treasure Island Casino, he allegedly approached a police officer and told him he wanted an autograph from Donald Trump. And that’s when he allegedly grabbed the handle of the officer’s gun in an attempt to remove it.
Michael was, fortunately, unsuccessful, and he was arrested. Now, he has been charged with an act of violence on restricted grounds.
