Hillary Scott, 30, broke down in tears on Good Morning America today, June 20, when she spoke out about sad news for the first time — the Lady Antebellum singer revealed that she had a miscarriage in the fall of 2015. You can watch her interview right here.
Hillary bravely talked about her loss, crying as she shared her experience. “Last fall, I went through a miscarriage,” she began. “This is something that is still not talked about very often. I also feel like there’s this pressure that you’re just supposed to be able to snap your fingers and continue to walk through life like it never happened.” So heartbreaking. Hillary also shared that she wrote her single “Thy Will” in the middle of “experiencing everything that comes with a miscarriage”. She admitted, “It was my most raw place that I could’ve ever been when this song truly poured out of me.” You can listen to Hillary’s beautiful song right here.
The singer is maintaining a positive outlook, and she’s excited to get back on the road this summer to tour with the band. “After going through everything that I’ve gone through in the past year, but also just the process of making this record, I know I’m coming back into the mindset of Lady Antebellum…I’m very grateful,” she said on GMA. Hillary is a wonderful role model for staying so strong!
