Unstoppable! Congratulations LeBron James! The Cleveland Cavaliers legend was named the NBA Finals MVP after killing the Golden State Warriors in game 7 to lead his Cavs to the NBA championship. Bravo!
LeBron James, 31, is the man! The Cleveland Cavaliers star was the MVP of the NBA Finals as he led his team to a 93-89 victory at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif over the Golden State Warriors. It was well-deserved after he shed blood, sweat and tears for the victory! Well played, LeBron.
There was even a horrible moment there when we thought LeBron might’ve had injured himself, but the big man pulled through to see how the remaining seconds to earn the win. And he was just so overjoyed with it, he couldn’t help but breakdown on the court and weep. He’d done it, he brought the championship back to Cleveland.
An amazing statistic here is that LeBron becomes only the second player to win MVP for a second team in the NBA Finals, joining LA Lakers great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for that particular accolade.
LeBron really stole this series in game 5 and game 6, when Cleveland were 3-1 down and needed him most he went back-to-back with two 40-plus performances. Outstanding.
He really silenced the doubters, and just absolutely crushed any critics that felt he wasn’t capable of pulling off such an amazing feat. While he didn’t achieve a 40-point haul in game 7, he did manage 27 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds. That’s impressive in itself.
After the game, a happy LeBron even poked fun at sportscaster Craig Sager. “Let me ask you a question,” he started. “How in thehell did you go 30-plus years without getting a Finals game? That don’t make no sense! But I’m happy to see you, man. Much love and respect and I’m happy you were able to witness this in front of these fans. We really appreciate it.” Ah, how sweet.
