Congratulations Cleveland fans! The Cavaliers defeated the Golden State Warriors 93-89 in game 7 of the Finals to become new NBA Champions. LeBron James was too much for Stephen Curry and his squad. Way to go, Cavs after 52-years without a win!
The 2016 Golden State Warriors may go down in history as one of the greatest teams in the history of the NBA, but they couldn’t beat the Eastern Conference champion Cleveland Cavaliers! Their NBA title comes after 52-years without winning a NBA championship and LeBron James was the man, as always!
Draymond Green, 26, was back on the court, but even though he scored some spectacular 3-pointers, it was all in vain. Golden State’s Splash Brothers Steph and Klay Thompson couldn’t match the might of LeBron.
This was the second NBA Finals in a row for the Cavaliers. The wild series was one lop-sided loss after the other for these two teams. The average margin of victory in this series was over 25 points. That includes the Cavaliers 120-90 win at home during game 3 and the 110-77 thumping the Warriors gave Cleveland in Oakland during game 2. This series had a little bit of everything. There was THOT’s in the crowd, Riley Curry made us smile, and big plays on both sides of the court. At the end of the season, the best team won. Bravo Warriors!
Now the debate can begin. Are the Warriors the GOAT in the NBA? Is the 2016 Golden State team better than the 1996 Chicago Bulls? Is Steph better than Michael Jordan? Whoa, slow down their sports fan. Clearly not after this loss. But this is only Steph’s second ring to MJ’s 6. Steph has a ways to go before he enters any conversation with Michael. But the Warriors definitely made their mark in history this season, despite their loss. Keep it going guys, keep going.
