This is truly devastating. Alejandro Fuentes, a former contestant on the Mexican version of The Voice has been gunned down in Chicago in an absolutely senseless attack, according to a report. Alejandro was celebrating his 45th birthday when a gunmen approached his vehicle and demanded he got out of the car at gunpoint. The murderer then opened fire on Alejandro, striking him three times.
According to the Cook Country Medical Examiner’s office, Alejandro died June 18 after being shot three times in the head outside his Tras Bambalinas School on the south side of Chicago.
The incident happened when Alejandro got out of his car after being held at gunpoint in a merciless ambush. Three shots were fired and he was left for dead. Absolutely awful. He was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he passed away.
Police are currently investigating the incident, but have no suspects as of yet. The cops are trying to work out if the shooting was an attempted carjacking or a robbery, for now.
Alejandro’s friends and family revealed they already held a vigil and memorial at his Chicago studio in the evening of June 18, which must’ve been absolutely heartbreaking.
Alejandro was a fan favorite on season 11 of the Mexican version of The Voice. His death comes just a week after another The Voice alumni Christina Grimmie was gunned down at a meet-and-greet in Orlando, Florida. It’s just such a tragic circumstance.
