Steph Curry’s wife was not happy that her husband got ejected from Game 6 of the NBA finals on June 17. In fact, she was so angry that she tweeted (and deleted) that the game was rigged for ‘money or ratings.’
Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry got extremely angry last night and was thrown out of Game 6 against the Cleveland Cavaliers — and the team ended up losing. So, was the game rigged? Ayesha Curry, Steph’s wife took to Twitter to go off about how badly she and her family were treated at the game, and also claiming that the whole thing was a scam.
“I’ve lost all respect sorry this is absolutely rigged for money… Or ratings in not sure which. I won’t be silent. Just saw it live sry,” Ayesha tweeted during the game. Of course, she removed the Twitter but the world had already seen it and taken screengrabs.
Following the tweet, she apologized. “Tweeted in the heat of the moment because the call was uncalled for,” she said. “Police racial profiled my father and told him to remove credentials and tried to arrest him. It’s been a long night for me. I apologize,” she wrote before confirming that it wasn’t the loss she was upset about.
“I’m okay that we lost… I just can’t take people coming at my family for absolutely no reason. Something I don’t understand or stand for,” she wrote.
After the game, Steph headed into the press conference and it wasn’t surprising he was bombarded with questions. “I’ve thrown my mouthpiece before, usually aim at the scorer’s table. I was off-aim. Definitely didn’t mean to throw it at a fan,” he explained — he later apologized to the fan personally. “I’ve never been ejected before, so it was a weird feeling.” He was also asked about that half-smile he had when he was ejected. “I thought it was kind of hilarious the way the last two fouls and me blowing up kind of unfolded.“
However, he said that heading into game seven, he feels the team is “more mentally tough” and ready to go.
So, do you think she was out of line? Let us know. Game 7 of the NBA Finals takes place Sunday night at 8PM ET on ABC.
