Yikes! WWE’s legendary commentator Jerry Lawler AND his fiancée, Lauryn McBride, were both arrested for alleged domestic violence according to a new report. Find out what went down between Lauryn and ‘The King’ here!
Jerry Lawler, 66, a WWE commentator known as “The King,” was arrested at his home in Memphis, Tenn. on the morning of June 17 on an alleged domestic violence charge. But that isn’t the whole story, as Lawler’s fiancée, Lauryn McBride, 27, was booked for assault too! HollywoodLife.com has the details on this shocking case here!
Jerry and Lauryn were both arrested at his home by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and booked on charges of domestic assault. WWE issued a statement confirming the arrest and charges on their website, as well as their official response to the shocking news. “WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Jerry Lawler has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest.” INDEFINITELY? Wow. Way to show your support for the victims of domestic violence WWE!
Lauryn claimed that Jerry pushed her up against a stove and hit her in the head, in a police report aquired by TMZ. But Jerry is singing a different tune. The King said that his fiancée scratched him in the face, threw a candle at him and kicked him between the legs. We are APPALLED by the news of these acts of violence between two people in what is supposed to be a loving relationship. Lauryn is also saying that Jerry placed an unloaded pistol on the kitchen counter and told her to kill herself. WHAT??? That is a terrifying threat, especially in the wake of the horrific mass shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando. But who is telling the truth here? Or are they both?
According to a phone interview Jerry gave from prison on June 17 with WMC Action News 5, it was “an unfortunate situation.” Jerry said Lauryn came home drunk the night before and they got in to a “shouting match,” but “nobody was hit, nobody was hurt.” Jerry warned against the dangers of drinking too much and denied all Lauryn’s allegations against him, even saying Lauryn picked up the unloaded gun, threatening to kill herself, and threw it. The King did say he hopes he and Lauryn can get past this. Wow, let’s wait and see what happens, as the WWE commentator and his fiancée have been released on bail and are scheduled for arraignment at 8:30 a.m. EST on June 20.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Jerry is telling the truth?
