Another day, another Stacey Dash rant. And now the actress is discussing the Orlando shooting that left 49 dead. She claims victims could’ve lived if more people had guns. See her controversial statement here!
Stacey Dash, 49, is infamous for making very controversial statements. And despite how devastating the Pulse nightclub shooting was for many victims and their families, the Clueless actress didn’t bite her tongue. Instead, she took the time to explain how different gun laws could have saved some lives.
“If there were more good guys with guns in the club, maybe so many people wouldn’t have died,” Stacey told TMZ while leaving LAX airport on June 15. The actress’s comments follow a tweet she posted of similar sentiment after the Orlando shooting occurred.
While it is a constant debate whether ‘ordinary’ citizens should be permitted to carry a weapon at their own leisure, Stacey said it should be a common right. “We need to be able to carry our guns because we don’t know what the enemy looks like now.” The “enemy” she is speaking of in this case, was gunman, Omar Mateen, who opened fire into a packed nightclub, killing 49 people, and injuring more than 50.
“Do you think that if everyone has guns, then you run into the same problem,” the interview asked. “No, I think that’s false,” she countered. “Bad people are going to have the guns anyway. So if you give the good guys the guns, they’re trained, they know how to use them.”
It can’t be certain if the outcome from this deadly incident could’ve been any different if residents were able to carry hand guns, but Stacey’s latest rant is part of a greater discussion concerning gun violence and the Second Amendment. The actress has often stood up for gun rights. “A gun saved my life,” she told People, after revealing she was involved in an abusive relationship where her ex-partner threatened her with a gun.
“He had a gun to my head, and I thought, ‘My son is in that crib right there,’” Stacey said. But when he came back one night, she admitted that she immediately picked up a gun and fired a couple warning shots at him. None of the stray bullets hit the man, but Stacey mentioned that she was thankful to have that right to bare arms.
Since the Orlando shooting and the death of singer, Christina Grimmie, the discussion on gun laws has heightened. Stacey continues to be a big voice within the ongoing debate, and has cited to stand in favor of Donald Trump’s, 70, ideals and opinions on the matter as well.
