So heartbreaking. A 2-year-old was attacked and dragged into a lagoon by an alligator at a Disney resort in Florida — as his horrified parents tried to save him! And the world is devastated. Twitter users have even taken to social media, expressing their extreme sorrow for the child’s family.
Our hearts are breaking for the family of a two-year-old boy who was vacationing in Florida when their their tiny son was attacked by an alligator at a Disney World resort. The family was enjoying an evening of fireworks and a “movie night” near the Seven Seas Lagoon when the horrific tragedy struck. And now, in an effort to support the family, Internet users are posting their condolences on social media, asking for prayers for both the boy and his loved ones. See their heartfelt tweets here.
“We are working on locating the child and trapping this alligator,” a representative from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said after the incident on June 14. “We express our thoughts and prayers to family during this difficult time.”
As of the morning of June 15, the names of the victim and his parents have not yet been released. But officials are doing everything they can to locate the child — who has not yet been found.
In the meantime, people have taken to Twitter in sheer shock, confusion, and utter disbelief that such a horrible thing could have occurred at the “happiest place on Earth.”
Most importantly though, followers of the story have extended their prayers to the family, letting them know that their thoughts are with them, and they’re hoping for a miracle. Read their saddening tweets below:

This is just so sad. So far, wildlife officials have captured and killed four alligators from the lake overnight, but they have found no trace of the boy, authorities revealed at a dawn press conference.
