Another tragedy has struck in Orlando. A two-year-old boy was dragged into the water by an alligator at Disney World’s Floridian hotel on June 14, and hours later, he still has not been found.
A young boy was attacked by an alligator while hanging out near a lagoon at a Disney hotel on June 14, and police are still searching for both the animal and its victim. The child was dragged into the lagoon by the gator and is still missing hours later.
“This is still a search and rescue operation,” a spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office explained. “We are very hopeful. We are hoping for the best.” The frantic mission to find the boy went on for hours on Tuesday night and is expected to continue throughout Wednesday morning with “fresh eyes.”
The two-year-old, his parents, and four-year-old sister are visiting Disney from Nebraska, and the family members watched in horror as the boy was attacked at the Seven Seas Lagoon. “The father actually went into the water to wrestle his son from the grips of the alligator,” police confirmed.
Unfortunately, it was too late, and sadly, the spokesperson revealed that they’re “not likely going to recover a live body.” The boy was wading by the water’s edge when the tragic attack happened, although “No Swimming” signs are posted around the area.

“Everyone here at the Walt Disney Resort is devastated by this tragic accident,” Walt Disney World Resort’s VP said. “Our thoughts are with the family. We are helping the family and doing everything we can to assist law enforcement.”
This horrifying accident comes just two days after Omar Mateen murdered 49 people and injured 53 more at Pulse Nightclub, also in Orlando, and four days after Christina Grimmie, 22, was shot dead at a meet and greet just miles away. So sad.
HollywoodLifers, are you shocked that this happened?
