It’s been a while since Freddie Prinze Jr. been in front of the camera, but the 90s heart throb recalled his glory days in the horror film, ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer,’ and even revealed whether there would be a third!
Talk about blast from the blast! It’s been nearly 20 years since Freddie Prinze Jr., 40, and his friends scared us straight in the thriller, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and we are still frightened of fishermen with a hook for a hand. But Freddie revealed whether or not fans could be getting ready for another scare with a third installment to the horror franchise. His answer may shock you!
Sorry folks, it looks like you won’t get to see Jennifer Love Hewitt, 37, and Freddie team up to fight the mysterious fisherman. Freddie revealed that it just isn’t in the cards for him right now. “I’m a fulltime father so the movies are sort of done for me,” he told PEOPLE, “unless they want to film something in Los Angeles.” The original 1997 film took place in Southport, North Carolina, but who says they can’t recreate the setting in sunny California?
But still, it seems that the former teen hottie is pretty comfortable with his job now. In addition to taking care of his two children, with wife and fellow horror co-star, Sarah Michelle Gellar, 39, he’s voices Kanan in the animated series Star Wars Rebels. “When I do the ‘Star Wars’ show, that’s six hours a week. It’s in LA, I don’t have to wear makeup, nobody fusses with my clothes. Nobody messes with my hair; I don’t have to shave,” he added. “I go in, I do my Kanan voice… So you now that is my job, and I love it. And it allows me to be a fulltime father.”
There’s definitely nothing like going into work with your pajamas, but we’re so sad a third movie won’t be heading to theaters. And especially after producers tried to reboot the movie in 2015 without the original cast, it would be great to see those beloved characters again.
But Freddie revealed that the horror film isn’t even what he gets remembered for! “It’s probably either ‘She’s All That,’ or if they’re a little younger, ‘Scooby,'” the actor said on which roles he gets remembered for the most. “But ‘She’s All That’ is the main one because that still gets played in hair salons at noon when women are getting their blowouts.” SO funny!
So unfortunately, the world won’t be getting another slasher film with Freddie in it. But on the bright side, there is another 90s film that is getting a reboot. Sarah Michelle revealed that she will be reprising her role in the Cruel Intentions, NBC series!
HollywoodLifers, are you sad there will be no I Know What You Did Last Summer 3?
