Apple also announced at the conference that you’ll be able to replace words with emojis with just a tap, saving you the time it takes to search for the perfect icon. “[The] feature allows users to ’emojify’ words after a message has been typed, highlighting specific words in orange and allowing users to transform them into linked emoji on the fly,” TheVerge reports. For example, if you type the word “baseball”, the phone will highlight the word and give you the option to replace it with the emoji.
CEO Tim Cook also had a few visionary words to share with the crowd at the conference. “We believe technology should lift humanity and enrich people’s lives in all the ways people want to experience it — whether that’s on the wrist, in the living room, on the desk, in the palm of their hand, in the car or even automating their home,” he said. Here are more new features that were announced at the keynote today:
Updated interface for Apple Music
Apple News subscriptions
Apple Pay expansion
Mac operating system rebranding
Apple TV operating system update, named tvOS
Appel Watch operating system improvements
