Adele, one of the world’s loveliest people, took a stand by dedicating her show in Belgium on June 12 to the victims of the horrible Orlando nightclub shooting. WATCH the singer get emotional as she speaks about the tragedy.
Adele, 28, broke down in tears onstage as she offered up her respect to the Pulse Nightclub victims, speaking from her heart about the atrocity in Antwerp, Belgium. Check out the video of the “Send My Love” singer paying tribute to the awful shooting right here.
After welcoming the crowd to her first night out of three in Belgium, Adele turned serious. “I’d like to start by dedicating this entire show to everybody in Orlando in Pulse Nightclub last night,” she said. “The LGBTQI community…they’re like my soulmates, since I was really young, so I’m really moved by it.” Adele then halted her speech as she began crying! “Tonight is pretty miserable, because my songs are f*cking miserable,” she added, recovering with a classic Adele joke. Love this woman.
Besides Adele, celebrities around the world have been paying tribute to the Orlando victims. Harry Styles tweeted a photo of all the colors of the rainbow with the caption “All”, and Kim Kardashian wrote that she was “truly at a loss for words” after the attack. “To everyone in Orlando affected by this massacre, my thoughts, love & prayers are with you,” she tweeted. At the 2016 Tony Awards, Lin Manuel-Miranda took the opportunity to perform a sonnet in honor of the victims. “Senseless acts of tragedy remind us that nothing here is promised, not one day…We live through times when hate and fear seem stronger, we rise and fall and light from dying embers, remembrances that hope and love last longer. And love is love is love is love is love is love, cannot be killed or swept aside,” he urged. Amazing.
