This is just so heartbreaking. Selena Gomez dedicated a performance from her ‘Revival Tour’ concert on June 11 to her longtime friend, Christina Grimmie, who was shot and killed the day before. It was absolutely moving, but Selena had a hard time getting through it.

“One thing about Christina and her family is that she holds her faith so closely to her,” Selena told the crowd at American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida, as you can see in the video below. “I think it’s not about a religion and it’s not about good deeds. I think she just had faith and I don’t really understand how this really happened, but I would like to dedicate this song to her.”
Selena tried her best to get through the performance, but it was impossible. She just couldn’t hold back the tears. Selena struggled to get through the song, but after every few lyrics, she would drop the mic, wave her hand in a “I can’t do this” fashion, before attempting to continue. Clearly, Selena is devastated over the loss of her longtime friend.
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Christina was murdered on June 10, after being shot by a lone gunman outside the Plaza Live Theater in Orlando, Florida. Following the shooting, Selena said she was devastated by the news. “My heart is absolutely broken. I miss you Christina,” she wrote in a Tweet with a pic of the pair together.
This is such a sad situation. We love that Selena dedicated a performance to Christina, but it was obviously hard for her to do.
Our thoughts go out to Christina’s family and friends during this difficult time in their lives. So sad.
