The deadly shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida on June 12 was like a scene straight out of a horror movie. Eyewitnesses said there were dead bodies everywhere. And pictures that were released show people scared, injured and covered in blood. See them here.
This is so incredibly sad. At least 50 people were killed and 53 injured at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, during the early morning hours of June 12, when a lone gunman opened fire and held many hostage inside. Those who escaped, crowded the streets outside — many covered in blood. It was a horrific scene, and still is, but if you’d like to see the pictures from the tragic scene, click below.
As you can see in the photo gallery above, police cars and the SWAT team surrounded the club, shortly after the gunman, identified as Omar Mateen, opened fire. Survivors huddled around one another and hugged each other. Surrounding streets have been closed and a press conference took place early this morning. But the most haunting pictures are those that show survivors and family members of the victims covering their faces in horror.
Following the terrible incident at Pulse nightclub, the White House released the following statement: “The President was briefed this morning by Lisa Monaco, Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, on the tragic shooting in Orlando, Florida. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the victims. The President asked to receive regular updates as the FBI, and other federal officials, work with the Orlando Police to gather more information, and directed that the federal government provide any assistance necessary to pursue the investigation and support the community.”
We still can’t believe this happened. It’s just so sad. Too many lives were lost in this tragic massacre.
Our thoughts continue to go out to those affected by this shooting. It’s so heartbreaking.
