Harry was clearly at a loss for words over this situation, and kept his post simple by uploading a photo of all the colors of the rainbow which he captioned, “All.” The singer is showing his support for the LGBT community after Omar Mateen went on a shooting spree at gay nightclub Pulse.
5o innocent lives were taken and 53 more people were injured after Omar’s attack, making this the deadliest shooting in United States history. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the murders, and just moments before Omar started shooting, he was reportedly on the phone with police swearing his allegiance to the radical group’s leader.
Omar has been on the FBI’s radar since 2013, when he was investigated for making “inflammatory comments to coworkers.”
The nature of the comments was not specified, but they were bad enough that he was suspected of terrorism. However, the investigation was closed when no specific ties to terrorist threats could be found.
Omar was once again looked into by the agency in 2014 when he was reported to have had ties to a suicide bomber, although that case was eventually closed, as well. Still, he was not put onto a terrorist watch list, and purchased legal firearms before the shooting.
With his message on Twitter, Harry joins a whole list of celebs who have spoken out about this awful attack. Our hearts are with the victims, their loved ones and the LGBT community during this incredibly difficult time.
