Christina Grimmie‘s tragic murder on June 11 came as a massive shock to everyone who loved the singer, especially her family at The Voice. Coach Blake Shelton, 39, who got to know Christina during her powerhouse run on The Voice season six, tweeted his condolences on June 11 after learning about her senseless shooting. “I’m stunned and disgusted and heartbroken that we lost that sweet little girl… Keeping @TheRealGrimmie family in my heart and mind,” Blake tweeted after discovering that Christina had been killed outside her concert in Orlando on June 11. Our thoughts exactly!
Blake was desperate for answers after hearing that Christina had been shot by a lone gunman while signing autographs after her concert with Before You Exit at Plaza Live in Orlando, Florida. After seeing reports that Christina had been shot, and seeing people tweeting with the #prayforChristina tag, he tweeted, “Just hearing about this.. Is this all true? Anybody know how she’s doing?” After a follower confirmed the sad news to Blake, he tweeted that he was praying. Finding out that she was fatally shot had to have been a devastating shock for The Voice coach.
Christina was on Team Adam during her time on The Voice, and her former coach was in disbelief over Christina’s horrific shooting. “I’m sad, shocked and confused. We love you so much Grimmie. We are all praying hard that you can pull through this…this just isn’t fair,” Adam Levine wrote on Instagram on June 11. Adam has not posted anything since news broke that Christina died from her gunshot wounds.
