Uh oh! Fox Sports Florida reporter Emily Austen either tried her best at being shocking or is a closet racist because she made some crazy insensitive remark about Asians and Latinos, and now she’s out of a job!
Fox Sports Florida’s Emily Austen has been known for her outspoken thoughts and big personality, but she let herself get a little too real by calling out Latinos for not being smart, stereotyping Asians at math, and how to talk to “the Jews.” Now she’s been canned from her sweet gig as the sideline reporter for the Tampa Bay Rays and Orlando Magic broadcasts. Keep reading to see the shocking comments she made.

Emily and some of her fellow Fox Sports Florida reporters went on Barstool Sports’s daily Rundown show June 9, which was broadcast live on Facebook. It’s bad enough that she called Cleveland Cavaliers star Kevin Love, 27, a “little b*tch,” many times, but Emily was once the Boston Celtics team reporter so maybe she has some Eastern conference hatred towards him.
But she really steps up her obnoxiousness when they leave the world of sports and start talking about Texas high school senior Larissa Martinez, 18, and her tweet that she had a 4.5 GPA, was a valedictorian and had a full scholarship to the University of Texas even though she’s an undocumented immigrant. She blares out “I didn’t even know Mexicans were that smart,” as one of her cohorts starts laughing in shock.
Emily catches herself after one of her cohosts calls her “Trump Junior,” saying, “That’s f**ked up, I didn’t mean it like that,” but then goes further off the deep end saying, “You guys know that the Chinese guy is always the smartest guy in math class,” and even the guys around her are shocked, noting that she’s trying to dig herself out of her racist hole by digging deeper.
She gets egged on by her cohosts who ask her if she’s going to keep things up and diss Jewish people and totally takes their bait, saying “I went to school in Boca (Raton, FL), I know most of that….the way to talk to the Jews,” as the guys around her laugh in shock that she’d go there. She catches herself by admitting that she was being a little too aggressive and that she wasn’t trying to be racist, but too late. She showed her true colors and boy are they ugly.
When word got back to FOX Sports about what she said, they made sure that they distanced themselves from her vile commentary. ” Emily has been advised that her comments were unacceptable, and she is not scheduled to appear on any upcoming FOX Sports Florida or FOX Sports Sun broadcasts,” the network said in a statement.
HollywoodLifers, are you glad Emily got canned?
