The Premier League star, rated as one of the world’s most talented soccer players, was named in Spanish court documents by a protected witness, who claimed he was involved in a child prostitution ring. David and his former teammate Iker Muniain engaged in forced sexual relations with a woman, according to court papers, but David says the allegations are all nonsense!
“This is all something false which has come out in the press,” David told the packed presser. “I’ve left it in the hands of my lawyers — it’s all lies.” He also addressed the rumors that he was going to be sent home from Euro 2016 in disgrace, saying he was focused on the team and the tournament ahead.
David continued, “I never thought about leaving [the camp]. It gives me more strength to train even harder. I’m still very relaxed, just want to train and do what I like to do. I just want the tournament to start and to play. I am a quiet guy and it is difficult that something affects me. And when something is false more reasons not to be affected. I was playing the Playstation in the room when I was told about it. Above all I wanted to tell my family, so they know this is all false, and they can be relaxed.
He added, “I know what I have done with my life. It is all false. I have no idea where reports came from or how I could be [mixed up] in this. I am very relaxed, and I can only say it is all false.” Fans have already poured their heart out on social defending David.
It does seem that when you make it as a sports star that allegations like this can come up. We hope David is telling the truth. Judging by his demeanor in the press conference, he seemed very calm, it’s all just a bogus claim. We will soon see.
