Whoa, whoa, whoa. This fan explains that the idea of Jaime killing Cersei comes from Maggy’s prophecy. Some of Maggy’s bold predictions have already come to fruition — Cersei marrying Robert and Cersei having 3 children. Maggy’s also predicted that all of Cersei’s children would die, and we all know it’s only a matter of time before Tommen bites the dust.
Maggy also said, “The valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you.” Valonqar is Valyrian for “little brother.” While Cersei believes the valonqar to be Tyrion, this theory predicts it’s actually Jaime. The fan notes that George R.R. Martin specifically mentioned that Jaime was born after Cersei, making him her younger brother.
Jaime killing Cersei would certainly bring his story full circle. As the fan states, Jaime’s “character development is largely centered around one event: the killing of the Mad King after he ordered the burning of King’s Landing by wildfire. Conflicted between his duty to the King and his duty to his family and the people, he chose to stab Aerys II in the back and has lived with the shame of the Kingslayer title ever since.”
This theory says that Cersei will go mad and decide to burn down King’s Landing after Margaery’s plan to “manipulate the faith” ends in Tommen’s death. A devastated Cersei is then put on trial and loses. In one last attempt to get back at Margaery and the Sparrows, Cersei orders to burn the city down. Cersei’s said multiple times that she would “burn cities to the ground” for her family.
Jaime will prevent this from happening by choking the life out of Cersei. That means Jaime will save the city once again, but he’ll be forced to kill his lover and twin sister. We can’t wait to see how this all plays out.
