Grace VanderWaal, 12, has been declared the “next Taylor Swift” by Simon Cowell, 56, and you’re about to see why. The ukulele player received the Golden Buzzer from judge Howie Mandel, 60, which guarantees her a spot in the upcoming live episodes of America’s Got Talent!
Wow. This performance from Grace VanderWaal will have your jaw on the floor and asking for more. Thankfully, you can expect a whole lot more from this adorable little ukulele player, because she’ll be competing in AGT‘s live shows towards the end of the season — and it’s all thanks to her incredible audition performance.
Grace VanderWaal took the stage to perform an original song for the AGT judges, including Howie and Simon, and as you can see in the video above she completely blew them away. Before performing she told the judges that her friends didn’t know that she sang, and that she wasn’t sure she could win but that she did believe miracles could happen. So sweet!
As soon as Grace’s soulful voice came through the microphone, it was a done deal. Not only were the judges in awe, but the crowd cheered her on once they realized how talented she truly was. The cheers threw little Grace off-guard, and she giggled a little bit as she broke into the second verse of a very clever song she wrote all by herself.
Once Grace’s performance ended she received a standing ovation from the judges and the audience, to which she was very genuinely surprised. However, when Howie slammed his hand down on the golden buzzer and the confetti started flying, tears streamed down Grace’s face. Her family promptly ran out onto the stage to embrace her in excitement, and it was a really beautiful moment for the show.
