While it’s unclear exactly when Nate’s picture was taken, he couldn’t have chosen a picture to more accurately depict Kimbo’s personality. With Kimbo sporting a big gold necklace and giving his classic mean-mugging glare, Nate’s picture with Kimbo was a perfect way to celebrate his life! “RIP Kimbo Slice…” was all he captioned the pic with, almost making it seem like Kimbo’s sudden death left Nate speechless. But he’s not the only one who can’t believe Kimbo is gone!
Nate was one of the many fighters that mourned Kimbo upon the news of his passing. Jorge Masvidal, Jeremy Stephens, Brad Pickett, Colby Covington, Seth Petruzelli, Justin Edwards, Jimmy Smith, and Erik Jon Koch all posted sweet messages to Kimbo on Twitter. Everyone gushed over the late MMA legend, saying what a genuinely nice and humble guy he was. Although Nate didn’t say anything more than “RIP” to Kimbo, surely he thought the same of his fellow fighter if he took the time to post a tribute!
Kimbo Slice passed away at the young age of 42 after he was rushed to a hospital near his Coral Springs, Fl., home in the late hours of June 6. His training partner Tyler Cook revealed just hours after Kimbo’s death that his “heart quit” working, which ultimately took his life. Kimbo leaves behind six children and his longtime girlfriend Antoinette Ray. Our hearts go out to his loved ones during this difficult time — Kimbo will surely be missed!
