It’s on! TV personality Piers Morgan claimed that the late Muhammad Ali ‘said racist things’ all the time, and Chrissy Teigen didn’t let it slide. See how she fired back at Piers right here!
Piers Morgan tweeted that Muhammad Ali said “more racist things than Donald Trump” on June 5, and Chrissy Teigen is just one of the celebs who’s furious at Piers for his comment. Piers and Chrissy went at it on Twitter, with the supermodel calling him a “troll” — check out their Battle of the Tweets and tell us whose side you’re on!
“Muhammad Ali said far more inflammatory/racist things about white people than Donald Trump ever has about Muslims. #fact,” Piers tweeted on June 5. Once the Internet started bashing him for it, he responded, “I hope people don’t make me sound too perfect when I die. No coats of sugar please.” That’s when Chrissy’s husband John Legend stepped in:
I hope people don't make me sound too perfect when I die.
No coats of sugar please.

@johnlegend from what? trolling isn't a job (I've tried)

Of course, Piers didn’t take that sitting down. He responded to Chrissy on June 6:

“@piersmorgan it keeps me nice and not-racist so sure, give it a go,” Chrissy responded. Boom! This is why we love her!!

Piers also appeared on the show Good Morning Britain on June 6 to defend himself. “There was another side to Ali, he was incredibly controversial,” Piers said. “His preferred world is segregated. Black people living with black people, white people living with white people.” He also added that certain comments made by Ali about race relations would get “an incredibly different reaction” if he were making them these days. He did, however, call Ali a “pivotal figure“, and said that more black athletes should speak out on political issues like Ali did. “It does take courage. People need to be unafraid to be bold,” Piers said.
