On May 27th, during a friendly match against Honduras, Messi injured his back, bummer. Argentinian fans should not be too worried about Messi missing the first match as their roster is full of soccer studs including Erik Lamela, 24, Sergio Aguero, 28, Ezequiel Lavezzi, 31, and Ever Banega, 27, all capable of doing damage to the Chilean defense.
Chile is stacked with talent on their side of the field as well highlighted by stars Alexis Sanchez, 27, of Arsenal and Arturo Vidal, 29, who normally suits up for Bayern Munich. Look for Chile, the defending Copa America Champions, to have a slight edge in this match even though neither is playing anywhere close to home.

Messi brought his team to the World Cup Finals in Brazil in 2014 but lost in extra time to Germany and has yet to bring home a big win for his native land Argentina. Chile, however, lost a warm-up match at home to a smaller Jamaican team in May and will need to bring their best to have a chance in this game regardless of whether or not Messi plays.
