Now that’s good sportsmanship! Miss California totally flubbed during the Miss USA pageant, but instead of weeping about it, she made fun of the moment with the help of a Backstreet Boy! Watch the funny moment here!
Miss California, Nadia Mejia, didn’t make it into the top 3 contestants for the Miss USA pageant, but that’s okay because she had a pretty amazing moment after the show with Backstreet Boys‘, Howie D, 42! The two mocked her now infamous flub that cost her the top spot in a hilarious song.
When things go wrong, just burst into song. That’s what Nadia and Howie did after the contestant was cut from the competition. The two hilariously covered the Backstreet Boys’ hit single, “I Want It That Way.”
“Tell me why,” Howie sang, beginning their little impromptu performance. “I didn’t make the top three,” Nadia sang in response. The Backstreet Boy continued to sing, as Nadia sang along and danced. “That’s okay, I’m with Howie,” Nadia ended her song, letting her supporters know she wasn’t that upset because she still got to hang out with BSB after the show. Lucky girl!
“Tell me why,” he said one last time. “Why can’t the USA see, I don’t know about the economy?” Nadia sang before posing in the video. “I don’t either,” Howie jokingly added. Too funny.

Howie may have had a great night after the boy band performed at the big event, but Miss California’s night was a little rough. The funny video was mocking her highly ridiculed flub during the interview segment of the competition when she was asked how the U.S. could narrow the gap between the rich and poor.
Nadia was seen taking a huge gulp before stumbling through her answer. Yikes! “When it comes to social and economic inequality, I think that the rich and the poor need to stop being so segregated. I think there is a middle class. I think that the rich need to…,” and after that, she pretty much blanked. “I think that the rich need to be able to be giving, and I think the poor need to work hard. And I think the middle class need to come together and find an in between.”
Although she was able to get something out, it wasn’t enough to save her. After the interview round, the contestant was cut from the pageant. Poor Nadia!
But it’s good to see that she has such a great sense of humor about the incident. After all, good sportsmanship is a great quality to have. So she didn’t take the title, but at least Nadia made all of our teenage dreams come true singing with a Backstreet Boy!
