Mark Zuckerberg may be the king of social media, but even he isn’t immune to hacking! The Facebook founder and CEO was the victim of a Twitter and Pinterest hacking on June 6. That’s gotta hurt!
A hacker or hacking group calling themselves “OurMine Team” briefly breached Mark Zuckerberg‘s Twitter and Pinterest accounts on June 6 after using information obtained from the widespread LinkedIn information breach of 2012. Did they do any damage while controlling his accounts? Click through to find out!
There’s a silver lining in Mark’s order: he barely uses Pinterest, and never tweets. So when OurMine Team tweeted as Mark, announcing that they has breached the accounts, it was immediately apparent that something happened. They were able to hack into his Pinterest and Twitter after allegedly discovering that he used the same password for both as he did for LinkedIn: “dadada”; they tweeted, “you were in Linkedin Database… DM for proof.”
Come on, Mark! You broke the first rule of using social media — using the same password for everything — and you invented Facebook! Luckily, both Twitter and Pinterest were able to shut out the hacker and remove their posts, but not before Mark’s followers screencapped them:

OurMine Team claimed that they had also hacked Mark’s Instagram account, but that claim turned out to be false. Facebook, who owns Instagram, denied that this breach happened: “No Facebook systems or accounts were accessed. The affected accounts have been re-secured.” Can you imagine if that happened? What pics would they post? And would that have made them able to breach Mark’s Facebook account? We can’t imagine the damage!
