Taylor Swift, 26, helped mega-fan Max Singer celebrate saying “I do” with bride Kenya Smith on June 4 with a surprise appearance at their wedding and performance of “Blank Space”. Now that’s a wedding present! Taylor managed to pull off this cool move at the Brant Beach Yacht Club in Brant Beach, New Jersey, and celebrate the happy couple’s love after going through tremendous heartbreak. Obviously, Max and Kenya (and every single other person at the Singer-Smith wedding) freaked out when they saw Taylor walk in. Max’s sister Ali Singer, now crowned the best sister in the world, coordinated the appearance back in April with Taylor, reaching out to the singer in a touching letter about the death of their mother.
Max and Kenya actually got married in the hospital so his mom could be present for the incredibly important day. And in an incredibly happy moment, Max and mom danced like fools to “Blank Space”. So cute! So of course Taylor’s song of choice at the wedding was a stripped-down version of the 1989 hit! She sat behind a piano in the reception hall while Kenya and Max danced so happily, and the crowd sang along.
We’re tearing up at this! We’re not sure how Max and Kenya even handled Taylor’s next surprise: as if performing wasn’t enough, she gave them a handmade gift as well – a beautifully watercolored card that said “so it’s gonna be forever,” decorated with flowers and signed by her.
It’s an incredible that Taylor was able to show up to the wedding so soon after her breakup with boyfriend of over one year, Calvin Harris, 32; as HollywoodLife.com previously told you, one of the reasons that led to their breakup was her desire to get married. “Taylor was starting to pressure Calvin into walking down the aisle and he just felt that he wasn’t ready yet,” a source told us EXCLUSIVELY. “He envisaged getting married at 35-plus, and wasn’t comfortable talking about getting hitched after just a little over a year of dating.”
