Chris was facing a tall order at Miss USA, tasked with performing during the infamous evening gown competition. Imagine having to provide the soundtrack for all those gorgeous ladies strutting their stuff! But Chris’ sexy, slow rendition of his hit song “I’m Comin’ Over,” off his album of the same name, was everything and more! We got goosebumps just listening to it!
He took things up a notch by transitioning into his fun song “Heartbeat,” strumming his acoustic guitar as the ladies walked down the runway. We loved the added touch of having two dancers in the very opposite of evening wear — jeans and cowboy boots! He brought a little country to a pageant that’s all about glitz and glamour! He ended the incredible performance by walking down the stage himself to join the ladies.
Chris stole our hearts at the Academy of Country Music Awards on April 3, when he performed a stunning duet with Cassadee Pope, 26. Called “Think of You,” their heartbreaking, romantic song was all about missing the experience of being with their perfect someone. And boy, could you feel that emotion onstage. It was the same at Miss USA; Chris definitely knows how to milk it for the audience!
