When she gave birth to her son, Kim was reportedly up to 190 pounds! Sharing that her pre-baby weight was 135 pounds, Kim’s recent scale snap at 132 pounds shows just how far she’s come in the past six months. To help her steadily lose the weight, Kim teamed up with Atkins, which is a high-protein, low-carb diet plan.
Atkins Vice President of Nutrition and Education, Colette Heimowitz, shared that Kim followed the Atkins 40 meal plan. Specifically designed for new moms who are breastfeeding, the plan focuses on making sure you’re still taking in enough calories for you and your baby, aiming to lose two pounds each week.
As for her daily meals, Colette revealed that Kim would start with a 1/2 cup of rolled oats, 1/4 cup of strawberries and 1/4 cup of pecans for breakfast. Snacks focused on fruits or veggies, such as a 1/2 cup of red peppers and five cherry tomatoes with two tablespoons of dressing.
To add more protein into her lunch, Kim would eat a salad with salmon, followed by another snack of 1/2 of a peach and a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese. For dinner, Colette shared that Kim would eat four to six ounces of grilled chicken, six stalks of asparagus, one medium tomato and two ounces of fresh mozzarella with two basil leaves, one teaspoon of olive oil and one teaspoon of balsamic vinaigrette for flavor. When she was too busy for meal prep, Colette shared Kim turned to the Atkins Harvest Trail Bars, saying, “[They’re a] quick, satisfying snack filled with simple ingredients that [Kim will] sometimes eat when she’s on-the-go or wants to satisfy her sweet tooth. “
