The ‘Scream’ premiere left us sad, shocked, and well, a little bit worried about the Lakewood 6… er, five.
However, following the deadly season two premiere, an extended trailer aired on MTV for what’s coming up on Scream — including many new characters, one who seems to catch the eye of Emma (Willa Fitzgerald). But will he come between she and Kieran (Amadeus Serafini). Luckily, we sat down with the power couple… and the new guy! Everyone, meet Eli!
“That relationship is a real touchstone for her, a real source of comfort and security,” Willa told HollywoodLife.com during a set visit about her Emma and Kieran. “Which also makes an incredibly difficult situation for both of them, because she needs a lot from that relationship and he needs a lot from that relationship — that’s a high ask for any relationship, especially a high school one.”
As for where Kieran’s at, there may be a lot more trouble in store for the relationship with Emma. “I honestly don’t know how things are going to be mended [between them],” Amadeus said. “I think there’s going to be a lot of unforgivable sh-t this season between characters. I think they’re going to totally lose trust for each other.”
However, the spark between them is definitely still there. Amadeus added that Kieran’s feelings for Emma are “stronger than ever” in season two. “I think you come to find that his feelings have intensified. I don’t think he’s going anywhere.”
We also see her getting very close to another guy in the trailer for the rest of the season — that’s Eli, Kieran’s cousin (played by Sean Grandillo), who we’ll meet in episode two. “She can’t help but not write him off,” Sean said. “We do some things just us. Eli’s drawn to her so he’s doing his best to really make [the connection] positive.”
Willa also added that the way Emma and Eli meet is very “mysterious and slightly nerve-wracking way,” and that sets up their “winding road” of a future. “There are a lot of secrets, a lot of ups and downs, and a lot of negotiating not only her relationship to this new guy at school, but also trying to figure out the relationship that Kieran and Eli have which is much more complicated than Emma realizes at the beginning.”
