Some brave golfers got up close and personal when a massive adult alligator decided to interrupt their game by wandering through the third hole on his way to a nearly lake at the Buffalo Creek Golf Course in Florida. The enormous creature is seen lumbering along, minding his own business and not noticing or caring that he was super close to some people on the course at the time. He’s so big and heavy that his legs look like they’re making hard thumps as he moves along. But don’t be fooled, these things can run up to 20 mph when they want to!
Charles Helms, 56, was on the course when he saw gigantic creature and told Golf magazine that there was “stunned silence” between the golfers as they watched the big guy lumber past. Charles pulled out his phone and began to record the amazing wildlife encounter. When asked why, he said, “A better question might be how can you not record it?” Well, it is Florida and things that may seem completely crazy to the rest of the world appear to be completely normal in that unique state.
“It is very common to see alligators on a Florida golf course and they’re typically not a threat to golfers,” he told the magazine. “Wild alligators are shy and will not bother you unless you provoke it or corner it so it feels threatened.” Whew, that’s a relief! It’s a good thing no one tried to go after it with a golf club and instead just let the big guy move along and get to the cool relief of a pond.
HollywoodLifers, would you freak out if you saw a giant alligator in person?
