Carrie Underwood is looking better than ever, and it’s all thanks to a dedicated fitness routine. The country singer shares how she got her toned arms so we can all copy her this summer.
Few people can pull off a strapless dress like Carrie Underwood, 33, whose seriously sculpted upper body always stands out on the red carpet. As the cover star of US Weekly‘s Best Bodies issue, Carrie revealed how she stays fit and got her toned arms.

We’re usually so focused on getting lean legs and a flat stomach that we completely forget that we need to work our upper bodies, too. And apparently, Carrie is just like us, because she told US that she’s really had to focus on her arms.
“I like my legs because I feel like that is the easiest thing to make pop,” Carrie said in the mag. “But my arms are a strong second. We have been working hard on them,” she said, adding, “I used to curl eight pounds and now I curl 20!”
Proving that you don’t have to rely on pushups to get your arms in shape, Carrie works with weights during her 90-minute workouts with her trainer, Eve Overland. Working out six mornings a week while on the road for her Storyteller tour, Carrie told US, “Lifting weights is something that I have gotten more into. I can’t lift super-duper-heavy things, but I am working on it,” she said.
If you’re new to working out your arms, copy Carrie and start with smaller weights before working your way up to a bigger dumbbell set. You can also do what Carrie does, and incorporate your weights into your leg workout to help tone all over. Carrie’s trainer, Eve, says that Carrie uses her hand weights during her squat reps, which will help to build arm muscle and definition.
