Big congrats to out to Nyle DiMarco, 27, who came out on top of DWTS, becoming the first deaf contestant to win the Mirrorball trophy. After he and partner Peta Murgatroyd‘s smoldering freestyle dance May 23, there really was no doubt that he’d go all the way. So now that he doesn’t have 12 hour a day rehearsals, HollywoodLife.com has found out what his post-show plans are.
For now, Nyle is going to go back to his life as a globe trotting fashion model, saying his first order of business now that DWTS has wrapped is, “I have to go to Hong Kong for a modeling job and then Vegas for my foundation.” Nyle runs a charitable foundation that bears his name that assists the deaf, especially focusing on kids with the principle “that every child deserves love and language.”
But in the long-term Nyle has his eyes on Hollywood, both on and off-screen. “I am writing a show so hopefully more acting and modeling,” he hopes will come his way after his big win. With his smoldering looks and dance-chisled bod, were sure that a lot of producers have taken notice of this hottie! Nyle already has wrapped an acting gig for Amy Poehler‘s Hulu original series Difficult People, which will drop on July 12 so be sure to look for Nyle’s appearances!
As for what DWTS brought to Nyle’s life, he tells us, “Really the show gives me a platform, we are talking about 15 million we are able to impact every week and this show has made me realize how it can impact other lives. It really isn’t about me, it is about the millions of deaf people who live and that is why I set up my Nyle Foundation during Dancing With The Stars. So it was perfect timing for this to happen, to make and give the chance to make the world better.” Awww!
HollywoodLifers, do you think Nyle deserved to win DWTS? Was he your favorite contestant?
