XTina became the first female coach to take home the W on the season finale of ‘The Voice’ on May 24 — and she’s pretty excited that women are now reigning!
Alisan Porter‘s big win on The Voice, her coach Christina Aguilera could not have been more thrilled. As the first woman to win — in the past, it’s been Blake Shelton, Usher, Adam Levine or Pharrell — Christina absolutely raved to HollywoodLife.com about how proud she was to break “boys’ club” and that the ladies are finally getting that attention after “giving, giving, and giving.”

“It means everything,” Christina told reporters, including HollywoodLife.com after the show about being the first female coach to win. “I can not thank Alisan enough for choosing me as her coach. I was so moved and so touch by her story from the minute I turned around in the blind auditions. She’s been a blessing not only to myself, but to the show. She’s the epitome of The Voice and also such an inspiration for other hard working moms and any hard working parent that also has a dream that they want to accomplish.” To hear more about The Voice, head over to iTunes and download the latest HollywoodLife podcast for free!
Of course, Christina is also very excited that together, they’re showing how powerful women can reign — and that the boys’ streak is over.
“I’m not going to lie, it’s been a boys club since season one,” she said, adding how impressed she was again by Alisan. “She’s a hardworking mom with this gorgeous voice and, you know, [she] didn’t play country the whole time even though [she] loves and adore it. I just have to say because there are double standards out there and sometimes it’s not all fair — tonight is a true victory for women and women that work hard and women that are mothers. We’re just constantly givers and caretakers, and we’re constantly just giving, giving, giving and this format also, we just constantly are there and work so hard just for something that we are born to do, just to live our dream. And this one right here just proved and earned it more than anybody else I believe in my heart.”
With that, she turned to Alisan. “You had your work cut out for you and you did it babe. I love you. I’m proud of you!”
We love it! Are you stoked they won?
