Chris Brown has scored a MAJOR legal victory in the vicious custody battle against his baby mama, Nia Guzman! With Chris’ visitation rights no longer in question of being limited further, this is most definitely a positive step for Chris. But according to Nia, he hasn’t won ANYTHING!
Chris Brown, 27, basically dominated Nia Guzman, 33, in court after a judge totally denied her request to restrict his custody due to alleged drug use and gang affiliation — Chris: 1, Nia: 0. But while the rapper is most certainly psyched that his visitation isn’t being further restricted, what does this exactly mean for his relationship with his 1-year-old daughter, Royalty? Get all the details below!
Nia apparently claimed in court that Chris was unfit to care for Royalty without strict supervision! The former model then demanded a monitor and even asked the judge to reduce the amount of contact Chris was allowed to have with his baby girl — ouch!
But lucky for Chris, the judge was NOT having it, so their original situation remains: Chris and Nia will continue to have joint legal and physical custody, according to TMZ. Under the existing custody order, Chris gets 12 days a month with his daughter — and their time together will continue to be unmonitored.
However, Nia is ALSO gunning for more child support, although that wasn’t even on the table in the first place. She’s already getting $2,500 a month but reportedly she wants that sum upped to nearly $16k a month. Whoa! But while fans and media outlets have painted a picture that Chris has “won,” Nia strongly disagrees!
In fact, Chris’ former flame took to Instagram and totally blasted her haters, setting the record straight that the custody issues between her and Chris were “NEVER” a “war” and that she just wants what’s best for her family. “There is no big victory when it comes to children,” she posted on Instagram. “I never I REPEAT NEVER wanted or have tried to take our child away! And NEVER WILL.”
Nia claimed on social media that all she wanted was a nanny to be set in place for when Royalty visits Chris and that overall, she wants “him to be the best man he can be. PERIOD.”
What do you think about Chris and Nia’s arrangement, HollywoodLifers? Do you think they’ve come to a fair agreement?
