MC Mia Thermopolis in the house! Anne Hathaway proved she has an Oscar — in the rap game! She obliterated James Corden in an epic rap battle on the May 24 episode of ‘The Late Late Show.’ Click to watch the slayage.
Attention to all her haters: when you come for Anne Hathaway, 33, you best come correct or you’ll be shut down, Princess Diaries–style. James Corden, 37, learned this the hard way after challenging Anne to a rap battle. At the end of the lyrical throw-down, it was Anne who reigned supreme.
“I admit that Anne is both talented and sweet / and it’s hard to say anything about her that’s mean,” James said in his opening verses during the Drop The Mic segment on the May 23 episode of The Late Late Show. Still, James did his best, trashing Anne as the Meek Mill, 29, to his Drake, 29, before dropping a Halle Berry, 49, Catwoman reference!
Yikes! Yet, Anne didn’t sweat that one bit. “A Catwoman diss? Gosh –what do I do? / I can’t make fun of you James ‘cause no one’s heard of you!” Ooh snap! Anne even went in for the kill early on, saying that James’s wife prefers watching Seth Meyers, 42, instead of him! James tried to recover, mentioning Meryl Streep, 66, and bringing up Anne’s legendarily bad turn hosting the Oscars. He even dropped the F-bomb on his final verse. Still, Anne won the battle she brought up James’s dodgeball game with the boys of 1D. “The only ‘One Direction‘ that makes sense is away – from you.” She even wrapped it all up by saying, “Now you know how it feels to be Hatha-slayed.”
This just proves that behind that award-winning smile, Anne is all kinds of shady. The Alice Through The Looking Glass actress showed off her bad-girl side when she used her co-star, Helena Bonham Carter, 49, to take shots at a fellow shady queen – Kim Kardashian, 35. Anne shared a meme on Instagram that read, “In the world of Kardashians, be a Helena Bonham Carter.” Ooooh. That’s cold.
However, when KUWTK fans started blasting Anne, she deleted the post. The Oscar-winning actress explained that she wasn’t trying to put down Kim and her family, but celebrate Helena. “Putting anyone against each other [is] not my style,” she wrote. Well, from how she just destroyed James in a rap battle, she can spit fire and shade with the best of them.
