Alisan was named winner of The Voice during the May 24 episode, beating out finalists Adam Wakefield, Hannah Huston and Laith Al-Saadi, who came in second, third and fourth, respectively. Her win will go down in Voice history as the first time a female coach took home the title, and it could not have been more of a perfect ending. 1. “Down That Road“
Each finalist got to write and debut an original song during the finale, and for Alisan, it was quite an emotional process. After overcoming addiction, she’s now been sober for more than eight years, and sends a message of hope to her fans in the personal track “Down That Road.” It’s just SO beautiful.
2. “You’ve Got A Friend” with Christina Aguilera
Alisan formed an incredible bond with her coach, Christina Aguilera, during her time on the show, so this was the perfect song for them to duet on. The ladies connected because they’re both working moms who really do it all, and we can bet they’ll be friends for life after taking this incredible journey together.
This was the moment that, in my mind, solidified it all for Alisan. All the finalists were incredible in the finale, but she went above and beyond in her rendition of this song from West Side Story, and totally proved why she was meant to win the whole thing.
4. “Unlove You” with Jennifer Nettles
5. “Straight On” with Kata Hay, Ryan Quinn & Paxton Ingram
Alisan got to bring back her best friends from the season for this performance, and they sounded perfect together during the powerful performance. Not only did she win the show, but she’s formed lifelong bonds that she’ll have forever — so exciting.
