This is so sweet! During the final performances of the contestants on the reality music competition The Voice, Christina Aguilera, 35, cried. Of course it was during Alisan Porter‘s, 34, performance, and Christina was experiencing a lot of emotions. It made the whole season that much more special, and they proved that the stakes are very high for the May 24 finale. Here’s the scoop!
Alisan performed her first original song “Down That Road” which was an inspirational ballad about continuing on when life gets tough. This song was very close to Allison’s heart, not only because it was her debut song, but it was also hugely representative of her life story. She has been sober for eight years and knows first hand about staying on the path of least resistance. But it was her rendition of “Somewhere” from West Side Story that had Christina in tears.
“I just know beyond her gorgeous voice how hard she’s been working. I feel you. If anyone deserves to be the winner of The Voice, its you Alisan. Thank you so much for trusting me. You’re an inspiration for literally anybody and everybody who has a dream and wants a second chance and you are the winner of The Voice,” Christina said.
Aw! There is nothing better than hearing one of the best recording artists to ever live to tell you that you rocked it, right? It really doesn’t get any sweeter than that. Alisan really has come such a long way, and this performance definitely showcased that she will be around for years to come. Way to go, girl. You’ve got a long career ahead of you!
