Tom Brady is appealing his suspension – again! The New England Patriots quarterback isn’t going to let deflategate keep him out of the first four games of the 2016/2017 season. On May 23 he announced he’s going to continue to fight Roger Goodell’s punishment. Here’s the scoop!
Here we go again! Tom Brady, 38, already appealed Roger Goodell’s decision to suspend him from the first four games of the upcoming NFL season after deflategate and lost, but he’s decided to keep on fighting! On May 23, the Patriots QB announced that he will appeal the decision yet again, so there’s another hearing on the horizon. What makes this time different? We have all the details!
Tom isn’t backing down that easily! The star quarterback has once again decided to defy Roger and appeal his deflategate punishment on May 23. NFL Players Association attorney Theodore B. Olson told ABC News that Tom plans to file yet another appeal. Today is the very last day he can do this, after they gave him an extension on May 9. No word on why they’ve waited until the very last minute, but Theodore made it clear that Tom isn’t taking his four-game suspension laying down. Stream music ad-free and unlimited, RIGHT HERE!
“The facts here are so drastic and so apparent that the court should rehear it,” said Theodore. He believes Tom will have more luck this time around, after the court decided 2-1 to uphold his punishment on April 25. “Our two primary arguments are that the commissioner in the first place conducted an investigation and then the commissioner imposed discipline,” Theodore began.
“Then the commissioner appointed himself as an appellate judge or an arbitrator and then decided something new in the appellate process, abandoning the grounds that were the original basis for the supposed discipline. That’s No. 1, and an appellate judge is supposed to look at the record and make a decision on the basis of what happened before. He departed from what happened before. Secondly he ignored important provisions of the CBA about discipline that might be imposed for equipment violations. He departed from that completely and went off the track.” Damn! We hope justice is served, one way or another!
