Kim Kardashian attended the ‘Vogue’ 100 gala dinner looking totally glam. The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star strayed from her usual beauty look by keeping her skin natural and her hair brushed back with lots of volume. Get the details on Kim’s latest look, ahead!
Kim Kardashian, 35, attended the most fashionable birthday party of the year as Vogue magazine celebrated its 100 birthday in London on May 23. The reality TV star walked the red carpet with husband Kanye West, ditching her usual heavily contoured makeup look.
Attending the event with every major name in fashion, from designers like Tom Ford to models like the legendary Twiggy, Kim chose a floor-length see-through gown with green embellishment.
For the dressed up occasion, Kim opted for a hairstyle that seemed to be a compromise between the rock ‘n’ roll waves and wet hair look she loves so much. Adding texturized, undone waves to her glossy mane, Kim’s hair was given a major boost at the roots and brushed back away from her face.
Kim’s makeup was also a bit different from what we’re used to seeing. While Kim and her sisters popularized the contouring trend with their hollowed cheekbones, sharp jawlines and slimmed down noses, Kim recently said she’s been favoring a new technique that she calls “nontouring.” And it seems she’s already embracing the softer look by focusing on highlighted skin for the big dinner. To complete her look, Kim stuck to her usual shiny nude lip and super lengthy lashes (she loves Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Penelope Pink and the new Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Mascara).
Ahead of the Vogue gala, Kim spoke at the Vogue Festival alongside makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, explaining her new stance on makeup. “I think right now it’s more about nontouring, like real skin with less makeup on it,” Kim told the panel. “I’m trying to wear less… and my husband loves me without makeup. Now when I travel I just bring a small makeup case, and I’m content with that.” she went on to say. “I’m really into strobing now, so just highlighting the skin without using bronzer.” But there is one part of her makeup routine where contouring won’t be disappearing from. “I don’t think I’d stop contouring my nose. I know people think I’ve had a nose job but it really is just makeup!” she explained.
