Shawn Mendes for the win! The Vine star is now a bona fide music sensation, and we ain’t mad at it! Shawn was a force to be reckoned with, absolutely slaying his performance of ‘Stitches’ on May 22 at the Billboard Music Awards. Killing the game!
Shawn Mendes, 19, we know what you did last summer — worked your butt off! The star, who opened for Taylor Swift, 26, on her 1989 tour, proved that he is going to go very far very fast in this industry. When he started singing “Stitches” the crowd at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas went wild and we get why. Wow. What a performance!
You have no heart if you weren’t just a little teary eyed during Shawn’s acoustic performance of “Stitches.” When it started and he was sitting on a stool with rain effects slowly going on behind him, we’re pretty sure that everyone got a little weak in the knees. He didn’t even have to sing at all and we would have been absolutely in aw.
We have to say that Shawn looked absolutely dazzling in his dark jacket and jeans too. It was casual, but classy at the same time. I mean, he can sing, he can dance, and now he can also pull off a cute jacket like a boss. Can this kid do anything wrong? Ya, we didn’t think so either.
We were a bit shocked that he didn’t do something a little more intense, but instead downplayed the music, which was a great choice! He proved that sometimes less is seriously more, and we couldn’t have been more stunned by his performance.
Needle and a thread, we don’t want to get Shawn out of our heads! He may be young, but he definitely proves that he is going to be around for a very, very, very long time. Did we say that we absolutely loved him? If not, let us say it again: We LOVED him! If you ever stopped singing, Shawn, you would break our hearts into a million pieces.
