Talk about pleasing the crowd! Joe Jonas brought his new band, DNCE, to the Billboard Awards and they totally slayed the audience with their massive hit, ‘Cake By The Ocean.’
Joe Jonas, 26, dominated the 2016 Billboard Music Awards stage on Sunday night, May 22, in Las Vegas, Nevada with his band, DNCE. The group performed their blockbuster single, “Cake By The Ocean,” and had the star-studded crowd on their feet with excitement.
That’s one way to get the party started, DNCE! The chart-topping group brought their viral hit “Cake By The Ocean,” and it was pretty epic.
As lead singer Joe Jonas owned the stage, giant red balloons were released over the crowd so they could interact during the performance. The stage was also littered with red balloons and lighting, and then Joe took the show into the crowd to sing to the audience. It was really awesome!
Oh, and the best part about DNCE’s performance? Every time the camera panned to the audience you could clearly see Joe’s brother, Nick Jonas, rocking out. Not only was he singing along, but he had Demi Lovato — Nick’s BFF and Joe’s ex — dancing alongside him with her boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama. So cool to see them having so much fun!
DNCE just made headlines again with their second single, “Toothbrush,” for casting the gorgeous Ashley Graham as Joe’s love interest in the music video. This was a huge deal, because Ashley is breaking boundaries in the modeling industry as a size 14/16.
Shortly after the video made waves online, Ashley told Billboard magazine, “So often we see the typical ‘video girl,’ who’s definitely not a size 14/16. It doesn’t accurately portray what our world looks like, especially because the average size woman is a size 14. It’s really important that all industries celebrate diversity, especially diverse body types.” So true. Major kudos to DNCE and Ashley for the awesome video!
