It had to be! Adele swept the board at the Billboard Music Awards at the T-Mobile Arena on May 22 in Las Vegas, getting the gong for Top Female Artist. She’s had the most a-mazing year, so it’s hardly a surprise. Well done, Adele!
Is it any wonder? Adele, 28, beat off all her rivals for Top Female Artist at the Billboard Music Awards, which took place at the newly-built T-Mobile Arena in Sin City on May 22. You can’t say it hasn’t been Adele’s year, she has released some absolutely flawless music that’s had us all dancing and singing along to every hit. Congrats, Adele.
I mean, this year it was an impossible category to split. Every one of these girls is at the top of their game, so for someone to decide Adele should win over Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and Rihanna, well we don’t envy their job! Every one of these ladies is a winner in our eyes
But only one woman could take away the prize, and what a night it was for the London-born singer. Not only did she scoop Top Female Artist, she also walked away with Top Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album Winner for “25,” Top Billboard 200 Artist and Top Selling Album for “Hello.” That took a total awards count to a mammoth 5! Well done, girl!
She also debuted her awesome video for new song “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” which we already cannot get out of our heads. We defy you not to be whistling along to it once you’ve heard the track!
Earlier in the night, we were treated to some incredible performances including a musical medley from Britney Spears, Justin Bieber and Fifth Harmony, who all rocked. Shawn Mendes also sang his hit “Stitches” admirably, and was absolutely adorable. You go, Shawn!
Female artists have really dominated the Billboard charts this year, so it’s no surprise to see how much competition there is. Next year though it’s gotta be the year of Beyoncé, right? Steam Adele’s album — simply sign up for a FREE 30-day trial HERE.
