We’ve heard of surprise guests, but WTF was Sia doing at the live ‘Survivor’ finale? Even Jeff Probst was shocked when she walked out on stage to give out $100,000!
“Hi, I’m Sia!” Sia yelled from the live audience, without a mic on the finale of Survivor on May 18 in LA. Of course, host Jeff Probst called her up on stage and reassured the audience that this wasn’t a bit, and he actually had no clue why she was there. And with that, he handed her the mic. Oh yeah, she also was, of course, covering her face.
“I could not let Tai go home without saying that, You’re authenticity and your care for animals really inspired me,” she said to Tai. “And so I want to donate $50,000 to you. I want to donate $50,000 to your choice of animal charity. And I just wanted to say thank you for showing America how to be kind to animals.” Listen to Sia’s greatest hits here!
Naturally, the room all stood up to applaud and everyone really was shocked. Jeff then asked her if this was a “Fan Favorite” reward — for those who remember, that used to go to a favorite every season but it had ended.
“I remember that Sprint used to give money to a fan favorite, and when it didn’t happen last year, I remember thinking I kind of wanted to do it for Keith, but I was a chicken — pardon the pun,” she said laughing. “And this year,” she started, turning to Tai, “I just was watching you, Tai, and I know that it was a weird little journey for you, but I think that through it all, you showed your humanity. When you said ‘I was scared,’ and that’s why you voted off Scot . . . that’s powerful to admit the truth in that way. You’re a teacher.”
In case you didn’t watch, you don’t need to know much about Tai to know he deserved this. He literally convinced the group not to eat Mark, the Chicken! Were you shocked to see Sia? How kind is she! Let us know your thoughts.
